Affascinante presente

A Milanese period building, hidden in a dense maze of streets suspended in time, houses this apartment, completely renovated and reimagined by the Sposari Home studio.

The project leverages the clear fusion of modernity and the past, thanks to the calibrated use of frames, decorations, doors, tympanums, and wainscoting.

It is a reinterpretation far from the stereotypical “recovery,” where the vain opulence offered by the high ceilings remains alive, capable of captivating and providing, at the same time, combinations in balance between elegance and atmospheres with historical echoes.

Living area

Taking advantage of the collaboration with master craftsmen, the project consecrates, just beyond the entrance, a spacious living room featuring a herringbone natural oak parquet floor, but above all, the walls decorated in plaster, a detail inserted to recall the history of the building.

The storage unit with brass grooves, facing the sofa, always designed by Sposari Home, defines the entire living room and gives geometric movement to the enhanced wall, at the base of which stands a water fireplace.

A lowering managed with LED bars ideally extends the corridor (distinguished by tympanums that serve as a decorative element) and leads to the unexpected encounter with a flush-to-the-wall door, the house’s ultimate limit, designed to completely conceal the view of the entrance to the main bathroom.

The colors chosen for the concept range, in a play of contrasting combinations, between whites-turtledove, pastels, and soft, warm, enveloping earth tones.

Kitchen

The artisanal kitchen island, amplified by light tones, instead creates an intimate and cozy space, shaped to honor even the areas dedicated to everyday life.

Sleeping area

In the room dedicated to rest, the proposed theme, in Pascal’s terms, concerns the “gamble”.

Here, in fact, material and decorative design choices coexist that are seemingly distant from each other.

For example, the modern floral wallpaper behind the headboard coexists with plaster frames and an armchair with brass supports, perched on an antique-style wooden table.

Bath

If the apartment maintains a natural elegance, a touch of reasoned and lively eccentricity has been dedicated to the two bathrooms.

In the first one, intended for guests, the door of a mirrored cabinet serves a dual function (practical-aesthetic) and is designed to conceal the entrance.

The soft blue hue of the walls blends with the large-format marble-effect porcelain slabs laid on the floor. The same material covers the shower area as well.

Similar characteristics, but different shades, outline the main bathroom, flooded with LED lights, also to enhance the grooves carved in the shower.

In the most intimate area of the house, the theme of creativity returns strictly and indispensably, reintroduced thanks to a marble-effect porcelain, this time in Calacatta Gold version.

Sumptuous and eccentric balances, therefore, define the themes of this project, firmly tied to the past but with an intense gaze projected towards the future.
