Armonia nel verde
This is the most challenging project delivered by the Sposari Home design atelier in 2024.
A project capable of covering a one-year timeframe.
Moreover, the events related to this villa were decidedly troubled as Sposari Home, by decision of the client, took over from another studio.
For this reason, in agreement with the property, a rigorous design timeline was developed to allow following every single step of the creative process, with an established and precise timing.
An essential option to visualize the concept in its complexity, from technical drawings to the developments of 3D models.
The property, with significant square footage, showed the need for modernization and lightening.
For this reason, the start of the work coincided with a series of demolitions (related to both the rooms used as storage located in the garden and a small stable), inevitable in order to enhance the villa’s facade, thus giving new life to the private garden.
Subsequently, attention was directly focused on the villa’s external walls, to which (as is typical of a design studio that likes to define itself as an atelier), a new “outfit” was given.
Today, in fact, the facade shows a new, enveloping coat, a solution identified not only to embellish the visible exteriors but also to promote concrete energy savings as required by recent European regulations.
This circumstance, together with interventions related to windows, heating (underfloor heating), installation of heat pumps, and a new green condensing boiler, has favored a better energy certification.
Speaking of regulations, even the external colors of the structure were proposed by Sposari Home and shared with the Municipality where the villa is located, in full compliance with legal constraints and necessary authorizations.
Color consistency was also maintained for the block currently used as storage. This space, in the plans, will later be intended for a gym area and, for a residual part, as a warehouse.
Sposari Home also took care of the external fencing designed to best isolate the villa and suggested planting around the entire perimeter.
An event that, in a few years, will allow the entire area to be decorated and adorned by a wonderful green wall.
Living area
The living area, the aesthetic heart of the project, embodies a minimal, refined, clean, and sophisticated style.
A space where the philosophy embracing the concept is framed with the aim of creating a constant connection between interior and exterior.
Upon entering, in order to enhance the spacious living room without unnecessary visual distractions, attention was focused on the need to conceal the presence of the two doors: the one leading to the attic and the one leading to the basement.
This result was achieved thanks to the use of flush-to-the-wall hatches and, above all, a wonderful wallpaper signed by Glamora capable of adding depth.
The decorative wallpaper, ideally, communicates the interior and exterior (speaking of the project’s philosophy), with a bucolic theme comforted by non-invasive and impactful colors.
The staircase leading to the attic underwent a clear transformation.
The old solution was replaced by a cementitious resin after a grinding intervention, step by step.
The undisputed protagonist of the living room is the porcelain stoneware signed by Porcelanosa, in chestnut color, used with large format slabs (80×80). A presence that also enriches the kitchen area.
For greater practicality, the television is housed in a sloped wall designed specifically for a more comfortable viewing from the sofa. Always with the aim of linking the interior and exterior of the project, architect Paola Sposari suggested expanding the space dedicated to the window, now transformed into a mini portal overlooking the garden.
Earlier, the sofa was mentioned.
Here, another protagonist of the living area corresponds to the important single-shell sofa, artisanal production, white and bright with forest green cushion profiles, also designed in total relation to the exterior.
On the other hand, the theme of nature emerges forcefully also thanks to the imposing cedar wood table, painted, with iron legs resulting from a recovery.
The chairs, in rust-colored leather, are signed by Calligaris and, forgive the repetition, follow the project’s philosophy.
Soon, a beautiful Novamobili bookcase conceived with dark uprights and shelves will also find a home in the dining area.
Kitchen
To comment on the kitchen area, two definitions are sufficient: practical and stylish.
The snack island, covered in stone effect with cedar wood finishes, represents the true heart of the space.
The kitchen model is a Cesar, with office column area located on the right.
In this case as well, the enlargement of a window enhances the connection with the outside.
The hob is equipped with an integrated hood and is illuminated by a splendid lamp produced by Flos.
Upon entering the kitchen, on the left, you will find the old pizza oven that has been kept to remind of the villa’s history.
The room, designed as an open space, in direct connection with the living room, also boasts a design integration in case there is a need to separate the two spaces with an iron and glass portal.
Hallway and Guest Bathroom
Without beating around the bush, let’s get to the point: Sposari Home confirms, even for this villa, a certain predilection for corridors.
Contrary to those who consider these internal passageways as anonymous spaces of little interest, we like to make them, rightfully, an integral part of the project.
The solution for this passage to the study-bedroom area leverages a dynamic and less conventional cut, aiming to give rhythm to the corridor itself.
The presence of a double step, leading from the living room to the sleeping area, immediately indicates rhythm and movement.
Crossing the corridor, you encounter the bathroom, well-kept and elegant, divided into two areas for the washbasin and a subsequent area dedicated to sanitary fixtures and a large shower.
For the coverings, Ceppo di Gré, always signed by Porcelanosa, paired with shades of avio blue (to pick up the blue points in the covering) and rust have been chosen, colors that harken back to stones.
The black fixtures are from Paffoni. The grey-toned cabinet is produced by Arbi, while the sink support cabinet is artisanal.
The shower tray, crafted by Arténwork, is flush with the floor with drains covered by stoneware. Ceppo di Gré is present only in portions of the room to allow the satin enamel to travel lightly, aided by decorative frames.
Sleeping area
At the end of the corridor, you reach the important suite room.
Before completing the description of the intervention, it is worth highlighting a premise: the doors have been intentionally sacrificed (square and flush-to-the-wall), both to enhance the cleanliness of the walls and to give spaciousness to the “path.”
The bedroom is characterized by the presence of wood-effect stoneware and decorative frames placed evenly behind the headboard of the bed.
Wood, as mentioned, peeks out for half of the wall to reconnect to the project’s philosophy, always in connection between interior and exterior, between nature and man.
The artisanal, upholstered, and storage bed embraces the forest green hue, a renewed color marriage.
In the bedroom, there are also two walk-in closets (for him and for her) in addition to direct access to the private master bathroom.
Private bathroom
The very comfortable walk-in shower takes on the undisputed role of the protagonist.
Characterized by niches enamelled with Kerakoll products, in deep green, to support the connection with the colors of the bed.
The coverings (Porcelanosa stoneware), in line with the atelier concept, recall the texture of a three-dimensional fabric, with an inevitable bucolic touch only for the shower area.
Even the shower tray has been covered in porcelain stoneware.
The convenient and linear bathroom storage unit, with a double sink, is signed by Arbi.
Outdoor
The traditionally summer-dedicated space is outlined by a large porch and an important private garden. The protagonist of the patio is, once again, the Porcelanosa butter-colored stoneware.
Sposari Home has meticulously studied the outdoor lighting system (and the positioning of the lighting fixtures), including the entrance from the villa gate and access to the garages with interlocking pavers that echo the warm grays in harmony with the facade.
Regarding the gate, it was crafted by experienced artisans in the field with lacquering in connection with the nuances of the window frames (which play a crucial role in terms of visible “decorations” and continuous interplay of light and shadow).
Following the same philosophy, the important porch featured on the facade was also enhanced.
All the exposed beams were painted to lighten and give brightness to the environment.
The meticulous study of colors also involved the non-slip flooring, of course.
Finally, to embellish and truly make the garden magical, there is already a project signed by Sposari Home to equip the villa with a pool, sunbathing area, and gazebo, to be managed as a winter garden as well.
