Renovating (and rethinking) an apartment is nothing but a continuous exploration, an experiment, a reflection, so meticulous, however, as to enhance the calibrated interplay created by the contamination of styles.
Because it is precisely from the “contagion,” from the fusion and the recovery of the “industrial” memory that the furnishing emotions arising from this project have found a home.
Yet, the initial impact with this two-room apartment raised several doubts about the design.
In poor condition, lacking a proper living area, with a poorly lit small kitchen and a modestly sized bathroom, the apartment did not offer any particular inspirations.
For this reason, Sposari Home decided to open up the spaces more (by tearing down a 12 cm partition wall) in order to create a connection between all the rooms in the house.
A strategy capable of giving “breath” to the living area.
At the same time, even the sleeping area benefited from the increased space in the living room. Thanks to the new access, in fact, the bedroom emerges from the anonymity to which it was previously confined, to reach a reality, defined and livable.
Another key point of the project is the bathroom (managed by forced ventilation), but completely revolutionized, spacious, and in perfect harmony with the layout of the rooms.
Living area-Kitchen
Thanks to the demolition of the wall, even the open kitchen in the living room – anthracite gray in color – gains relevance and interacts with the dining table in the airy open space.
The appliances (Siemens) are all hidden except for the hob with integrated hood (Bora).
A double column of 120 cm, which serves as a laundry area, conceals both the washing machine and the dryer from view.
The concept, enhanced by the exposed beams (freed during the renovation from a false ceiling that obscured their ancient beauty), combines, in a subtle balance, the “industrial” style (presence of dark, almost black iron, and lamps managed by copper wires provided by “Creative-Cables”) with the scent of spices emanating from the presence of numerous ethnic-inspired accessories.
The floor, which runs throughout the apartment, is made of cement resin.
Furthermore, the interior renovation has allowed to maximize the vertical space thanks to the three meters of available height. All modular furniture (kitchen, wardrobe, bathroom) is the result of the skill of master craftsmen.
However, the personality of the rooms is expressed through the challenge posed by the colors and enveloping shades, chromatic tones capable of making one dream.
Sleeping area
Furnishing emotions perfectly summed up by the blue (bedroom area, bed by Ditre Italia), which dominates the wall behind the headboard repainted in white.
The presence of ethnic accessories in the bedroom enhances the stylistic “change of pace,” creating an environment, a niche, made up of shapes, objects, and essences aimed at recalling the origins of the client.
