Feasibility study
The purpose of the feasibility study is to give substance to a project identified with the client,
providing all practical information before tackling the implementation phase. This is the most delicate process,
because the feasibility study encompasses the project’s constraints.
Specifically:
- Interview with the client to define their tastes and general concept
- Evaluation of design alternatives without, however, distorting the objectives outlined through discussion with the client
- Viewing maps, photographs, and, if necessary, the current state of the construction site
- Identification and use of preferred materials
- Compliance with applicable regulatory constraints
- Risk assessment
- Cost estimate and budget analysis
- Quote bill of quantities (document listing all the works to be completed)
- Sharing the estimate with the client (who may opt for either an integrated project—consulting, design, renovation, supply of furnishings and accessories—or one of these components, but developed individually)
Design
As mentioned, the design phase cannot ignore the careful and detailed development of the feasibility study. Once the commitment between the parties has been established in detail, the project begins to take shape.
